Golf lesson content · Finding the cause

Why does your ball do that?

TPI Level 3 · What Rio's coaching covers

Look at the body (physical screen, 3D biomechanics, ground force) and look at the numbers (Trackman club data). Between them, the cause shows up. Then we work on it one thing at a time, putting and short game included. All of it is built on TPI Golf Level 3.

01

3D biomechanics and the kinematic sequence

How speed passes from pelvis → thorax → arms → club.

Shows where you're gaining speed and where you're losing it.

02

Ground reaction forces and force-plate analysis

Which way, when and how hard you push into the ground.

Shows how the ground is feeding your club speed, or isn't.

03

Swing changes that fit your body

A TPI screen of your flexibility, range of motion and stability.

No forcing a model swing. We build an efficient one your body can actually make.

04

Putting analysis

Body, putter fit, roll and stroke, looked at together.

Drills for your specific issue, so the stroke repeats.

05

Wedges and the short game

Everything inside 120 yards: distance, flight and club choice.

A short game that turns into strokes saved.

06

Club data analysis with Trackman

Club path, face angle, attack angle, dynamic loft, spin and strike location.

Puts a number on why the ball did what it did. Then we fix that.

Body × Swing × Ground force × Club data

Instead of just watching the swing, we ask:

  • How can your body move?
  • How do you use the ground?
  • How does the club move?
  • And what does the ball do because of it?

Put together, that's what turns into improvement you see on the course.

Course management

From the swing to course management

Lessons don't stop at the swing. We also work on the decision before it: where to aim and what club to hit.

Why course management?

Source: Mark Broadie, Every Shot Counts (2014). Strokes gained by the PGA Tour top 40, 2004–2012.

68% of the scoring gap comes from tee shots and shots into the green.

In PGA Tour data, 40% of the strokes top players gain come from approaches over 100 yards and 28% from tee shots. Both are shots where the decision matters as much as the swing.

What the lessons cover

How to play each hole, shot selection, targets and alignment: the thinking that shows up directly on the card.
